Description

This class meets all Federal Highway Administration, MUTCD, USDOT, and Fed OSHA flagger training requirements. Upon completion of this class, students will be able to:

  • Describe why proper flagger operations are important.
  • List the abilities of a good flagger.
  • Use standard references as they pertain to flagger control.
  • Demonstrate proper flagger signals and procedures.
  • Understand various flagger practices for different situations.


Hands-on exercises include:

  • Demonstrating proper flagger techniques
  • Laying out a flagger zone
  • Communicating with irritable drivers
  • Conducting a traffic assessment to determine the layout of a temporary traffic control zone.
